PICO DO JARAGUÁ
 

O Parque Estadual do Jaraguá, com aproximadamente 5 mil hectares de área, constitui uma das últimas vegetações remanescentes da mata atlântica em áreas urbanas da cidade de São Paulo, o que representa grande importância histórica, estética, recreacional, econômica e ambiental.

Conhecido por ser o ponto mais alto da região metropolitana, o Parque Estadual do Jaraguá tem diversas trilhas que levam ao Pico de 1.135 metros de altitude e ao mirante, onde a vista privilegiada da cidade e arredores já vale o passeio. Ao longo das trilhas, é possível observar além de lagos e nascentes, animais silvestres em seu habitat natural.

É um parque urbano, que figura entre um dos mais representativos deste gênero no Brasil. Criado em 1961 e tombado como patrimônio da humanidade pela Unesco em 1994, possui significado histórico, tendo se constituido em foco de várias representações sociais paulistas. Hoje costuma ser mais lembrado por portar várias antenas de televisão em seu pico, sem isso significar a perda de sua beleza, pois ainda é um dos cartões postais da cidade e ponto referencial do paulistano.

O Parque foi criado em 1961 e tem atividades para adultos e crianças. São churrasqueiras, quadras, playgrounds, albergue, lanchonete, pavilhão e anfiteatro a disposição do visitante. É possível chegar ao Pico do Jaraguá de carro pela estrada turística.

PEAK OF THE JARAGUÁ
 

The State Park of the Jaraguá, with approximately 5 a thousand hectares of area, constitutes one of the last remaining vegetations of the Atlantic bush in urban areas of the city of aesthetic, recreational, economic and ambient São Paulo, what it represents great historical importance.
